The Petroleum Club Christmas Party 2016
The Petroleum Club Christmas Party that took place at Hanu’ Berarilor Interbelic “Casa Elena Lupescu” on December 13th, 2016, gathered the top representatives from the oil & gas industry in Romania, honouring a tradition dating back to 2002. The theme of the party was “Interbellum Bucharest”.
In his introductory speech, Andrew Costin, the Petroleum Club President, mentioned the most significant achievements of the Petroleum Cub in 2016, and thanked the members and partners for their active support that helped the Association represent the oil & gas industry in its most difficult year recently, 2016. He also nominated the 9 new members that joined the Club in 2016: ROXTEC (Iulian Saulea), KERUI (David Yang), University of Bucharest (Prof. Victor Mocanu), Cantemir Mambet, Prof. Mihail Minescu, CONPET (Liviu Ila?i & Prof. Mircea Aurel Ni?a), Gilbarco Acis (Alexandru Badescu), MDC Turbo Services (Marius Dogaru), ROEC (Eugenia Gu?ilov). The contribution of the sponsors of the Christmas Party, HABAU PPS Pipeline Systems and Air France KLM, was also acknowledged.
Following an initiative started in 2008, Andrew Costin, the Petroleum Cub President, and Costin Neagu, the Executive Director, handed out the annual awards to the 2016 worthy winners. The “Oilman of the Year 2016” was awarded to KARL LEIDENFROST, Managing Director HABAU PPS Pipeline Systems, for his personal contribution to the planning, implementation and success of the Giurgiu – Ruse interconnector, part of BRUA gas pipeline. The Petroleum Club also acknowledged his considerable and constant support of the oil & gas industry in this country, and his leadership among his industry peers. SIEMENS was presented with the “Company of the Year 2016” award, for the implementation of the Siemens Load Shedding system at OMV Petrom’s Petrobrazi refinery, part of the ENEAS group of solutions (Efficient Network and Energy Automation Systems). The trophy was received by Teodor Saru, Director Power Generation Services Division SIEMENS. The “Outstanding Achievement in the Oil & Gas Industry” was awarded to GHEORGHE BALAN, the Executive General Director of CNR-CME, for his arduous activity at the Romanian National Committee of the World Energy Council, and his life-long commitment to the energy industry.
