The Petroleum Club Christmas Party 2013
The Petroleum Club Christmas Party that took place at “Casa Doina La Parc” Restaurant on December 5th, 2013, gathered the top representatives from the oil & gas industry in Romania, honoring a tradition dating back to 2002. The theme of the party was Romanian traditional folk music & cuisine.
In his introductory speech, Andrew Costin, the Petroleum Club President, mentioned the most significant achievements of the Petroleum Cub in 2013, and thanked the members and partners for their active support that helped the Association better represent the oil & gas industry. He also nominated the 19 new members that joined the Club in 2013: ITS Fusion, Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies, Mareș, Dănilescu & Asociații, Armaturenfabrik Franz Schneider, Cemacon, Terra Environmental Services, SeaPoint Consultants, AlpAccess, UniCredit Tiriac Bank, Powertek Equipment, Nexans, Geolog, CDI Oilfield Services, Bartec Safety Engineering, Polaris Anserv, A.Hak Industrial Services, Energy Domain, Lubbers Transport, SICK. The contribution of the sponsors of the Christmas Party (Expert Petroleum, OMV Petrom, Prospecţiuni, Schlumberger, Weatherford, Air France KLM, VIXO) was also acknowledged.
Following an initiative started in 2008, Andrew Costin, the Petroleum Cub President, and Costin Neagu, the Executive Director, handed out the annual awards to the 2013 worthy winners. The “Oilman of the Year 2013” was awarded to Gabriel Selischi, Member of the Executive Board OMV Petrom, responsible for exploration and production, while Justus Kay, General Director Continental Europe SCHLUMBERGER collected the “Company of the Year 2013” award on behalf of his company. KPMG, represented by Richard Perrin, Partner, won the “Support for the Oil & Gas Industry – Special Award 2013”. The “Outstanding Achievement in the Oil & Gas Industry” award, honoring a lifelong contribution to the energy industry, went to Professor Niculae Napoleon Antonescu, Honorary Rector of the Petroleum & Gas University Ploiesti.
The special partnership between the Petroleum Club of Romania and Air France KLM continued in 2013, when Air France celebrated 80 years of activity. The popular Christmas raffle comprised numerous prizes, including 10 Flying Blue Silver cards, 3 FB Gold cards, one Platinum FB card, one round trip ticket Bucharest – Amsterdam & a KLM Boeing 777-300 model plane, and one round trip ticket Bucharest – Paris & an Air France Airbus 380 model plane. The lucky draw also offered laptop bags, a laptop backpack, a laptop trolley bag, and many books about the history of the petroleum industry.
